This is the Jesus statue atop a hill in San Sebastian that we hiked to. While up there we also saw an old English cemetery and some Spanish castle ruins. It was about a 1 hour round trip hike.
A photo of the surf beach from up top the hill. It was rainy.
While on the walking tour of Madrid we took a bunch of pictures. This statue is hollow on the front half so that it will balance properly. The mouth of the horse is now shut because birds were flying in there and dying.
Here is a view of the Madrid mountains and a cathedral that was build over the span of 100 years.
The mayors office in Madrid, was originally going to be a jail but there was not enough room. We were not allowed inside.
Gran Via st, the newest most modern street in Madrid - a popular shopping district.
The beach in Valencia, right before the last blog entry. We got here late and there was no time to go swimming but we took a look at the beaches anyways. We decided that in the morning we would get up early and head down for a beach day. We were both in bathing suits and sandals... and this is what happened:
The weather was bad, but we found a European beach volleyball tournament going on at the beach that we could watch. They gave us free ponchos, inflatable hands and Nestea! Germany won both of the matches we watched, even though we were cheering for Austria and Italy.
The Volleyball was good, but this is why we stayed in the rain. They are the Nestea (Pronounced "Nasty" by the announcer) Dance Girls.
We still have not had a chance to hang out at the beach, but we hope to do that in the next week or so. Tonight we are taking it easy because we went to the bar until 6am last night.
Tomorrow afternoon we are flying to Ibiza for 3 days. Not sure how much time we will have to update from the Hotel there (which will be a nice change) - but at the least we will update from Barcelona on Wednesday.
We leave you with an updated layout of the blog...

a shame you were probably too busy looking at those girls to take more pictures.. oh well, at least you fixed your blog colours :-P
Glad to see you guys are havin a good time. I knew you would. That picture proves why beach volleyball is one of the best spectator sports in the world...rain or shine.
How's the nightlife out there?
Not a lot of luck so far when it comes to weather but, if it helps, you're not missing out on anything better here! I'm feeling confident though that Ibiza will be beach weather so relax and enjoy. Where to next ...?
Come wind, rain or shine you can't beat a bit of beach volleyball to raise the temperature! Sounds like you're still having fun and Ibiza will be lively.
If you have the time when you are in Barcelona we suggest you go up to Tibidabo. From up there you get a great view of the entire city. Another tip is to be careful when you are cruising down Las Ramblas. It's a must to see and do with a wide range of very good street artists etc. However, there are lots of very clever con artists and dodgy dudes so be careful and enjoy.

Well, as hoped there weather has been great in Ibiza with lots of time spent relaxing on the beach. We have just one night left here and then we fly out tomorrow to Barcelona around 2pm. We having been doing our best to conserve our money here but as expected it is pretty expensive. Anyway, I am too short on time on this internet kisosk to write a full blog but we will do that when we get to barcelona.
Sounds like you gentlemen are having a great time. The pictures are fantastic, especially the one of Ryan in the yellow slip and slide costume at the Volleyball game. Have a drink, or several, for me. Take care guys.
