3. Some fountain in Bordeaux.
Yesterday we left Bordeaux. The dinner we had was great, but the hostel was probably the worst place Ive ever stayed. The smell was horrible and Ryan killed some giant centipede in the morning.
We trained into San Sebastien and eventually figured out how to get to our new hostel, using bus maps as a guide. The city was nice but the weather was not welcoming. After we checked in, we decided it was time for lunch. We wandered the streets and there was hundreds of bars serving tapas, but no one spoke English so we had a hard time figuring out how it works. Eventually we came to the conclusion that you have to ask for a "plato" and fill it up, and pay afterwards. Tapas are nothing like what they serve at La Masia, but still pretty good once you finally get them.

5. Peek-a-boo, eye see you!
While looking for a place to eat dinner, we ran into some people playing drums and dancing in the rain in the middle of the street (we arrived at the end of some festival here).
6. People playing the drums.
We heard from some people in our hostel that there were fireworks at night, so we headed down to the beach to watch them. They definitely blew the Vancouver fireworks away. We were basically right under the fireworks, and the sparks were flying past our heads.
7. Fireworks in the streets.
8. More fireworks
9. And more fireworks...
After the fireworks we went to some bars to check out the San Sebastian nightlife. Beer was pretty cheap, and somehow we ended up in the middle of a spontaneous Spanish congo line.
Now we are going to hike up to see Jesus on a hill, and then find something for dinner. We have an overnight train to Madrid that leaves at about 10 30. We are under the suspicion that one of us got ripped off with the ticket prices.

Wow those are the coolest fireworks picture's I've ever seen! Looks like you happened apon one of your coolest attractions without planning it out! That's what it's all about right?
Hope your well. Miss you guys!

Wow! Fireworks without the crowds! Ryan, I'm sure you know Jordan well enough to realize that 'bug killer' will be on YOUR to-do-list while traveling. :) Hope your next room is nicer! Can't you talk to other people at the hostels for advice on where and what to eat and how? I can't believe where and what you have seen already. I am in awe of you guys. You are missing the Vancouver rain....
Miss you guys!
We tried our hand at tapa´s again tonight with out much luck. It is really hard to find out what everything is and when you finally do pick somthing it is rarely very good. Jordan is having a really hard time with them seeing as most of them are seafood realated or some other sort of "mystery meat". The weather here still sucks and is meant to get worse tomorrow so I am glad to be moving on. The fireworks were a total suprise to us but were soooo cool. I have a video of them to show you all, we´ll try and post it online but no promises. And as for asking food advise from the people we are staying with, they are all hippie vegetarians so no luck there!
Remember dad's rule: when in doubt about food ... order a cheese sandwich :)
Looking at the Weather Network you should be headed for much more sunshine in Madrid (be happy you are not in Mexico facing a Class 5 hurricane!). Loved the pics of the fireworks, etc. Is it really possible you have done France & N. Spain in just one week !?!? TTFN XOXO
OK, this blog thing has its ups and downs. When they don't post on a regular basis, I worry something has happened to them! I did get an email from Jordan this morning (the condo has SOLD!), so they are out there somewhere!
